I grew up in a conservative Christian home and my dad was a Master Mason. My grandfathers on both sides of my family were Master Masons. My mom and her mom were Eastern Stars. I was therefore expected to carry on my family's tradition, thus I was "Raised" a Master Mason at the ripe old age of 27.
I was duly informed by my Worshipful Master that I had been "Raised" into eternal life with the Supreme Grand Architect of the Universe. I would reside in his Celestial Lodge for all eternity. I was also told that upon my completion of the Holy Royal Arch degree I would become "A Christ".
I occasionally read our local obituary notices and note how many folks claim church membership along with holding membership with the Masonic Order and that of the Mystic Shrine. This includes both men and women (Eastern Star), which is disturbing to say the least. Folks need a resource to understand the teachings of Freemasonry and the Shriners. I have thus related "my story" in my books. This is not a judgment, nor a condemnation of anyone who holds membership within these religions. It is simply my story of the decisions that I had to make when I came to know Jesus Christ as my Savior. I have a burden for Masons and desire to help them make a decision for Christ while I still have time left to do so.
